Roastery Assistant - Edinburgh (Roastery)
As a Production Assistant at Cairngorm Coffee you’ll need to be an energetic and enthusiastic person who likes to get their hands dirty and enjoys being part of a hard-working team. You’ll also probably need to like coffee because that’s what we’re dealing with… lots of it. At its core, you will need to be happy doing a decent amount of labour to ensure orders are fulfilled, but must also have a passion for seeing orders through to completion with a flair for problem solving and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Packing & Logistics:
- Collaborate with the roaster to calculate the day’s roast requirements.
- Bag coffee and prepare all deliveries.
- Assist in the cleanliness of the roastery and ensure your production area is organised and tidy at the end of every shift.
- Keep on top of inventories and order new stock when necessary.
- Assist the production team in conveying the value of our range and to help bring in new partnerships. This may include delivering samples to cafes and prospective wholesale customers.
- Continuously help in pushing our program forward, keeping us in league with the best roasters in the business.
Admin Tasks:
- Control communications directed at the roastery, including answering customer service queries about orders.
- Order new stock on packing materials, when necessary.
- Organise all logistics for delivery.
Assisting The Roaster:
- Show a willingness to learn more on the fundamentals of roasting in anticipation of opportunities to conduct production roasting in the future.
- Participate in weekly QC sessions, by helping set up and clean up. Submit feedback using Cropster Cup.
Weekly Shift(s) at Melville
- Show willingness to help with shifts at our Edinburgh coffee shop where required, engaging with other baristas and experiencing our coffee firsthand.
- Use this opportunity to present a feedback loop between shop and roastery covering quality and possible improvements.

Front of House Supervisor - Edinburgh (Coffee Shop)
We're currently looking for a passionate and experienced hospitality professional to join our leadership team as the FOH Supervisor at our flagship café. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our high-volume, high-energy environment, working alongside the Shop Manager to deliver exceptional service and lead by example.
As FOH Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for upholding our customer service standards, running service on the Shop Manager's days off, and contributing valuable insights in team meetings to drive continuous improvement. You’ll play a vital role in shaping the atmosphere of our café and ensuring it remains one of Edinburgh’s best F&B venues.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by Example:
- Set the tone for exceptional customer service, inspiring your team to deliver friendly, efficient, and professional experiences every day.
- Ensure smooth daily operations by helping to manage the 'Vibemasters', coordinating workflows, and troubleshooting challenges during service.
Customer Experience:
- Greet customers warmly and ensure they feel welcome and cared for from start to finish.
- Provide expert guidance on our coffee offerings, sharing details about origin, flavour profiles, and brewing methods.
- Listen to customer feedback and use it to enhance their experience while maintaining high satisfaction levels.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure the coffee shop is clean, well-organised, and visually appealing, from tables to displays.
- Take charge of the atmosphere when the Store Manager isn't present by monitoring music, lighting, and temperature, creating a space where people love to spend time.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement, from service flow to team performance, and share insights with the leadership team.
Support Your Team:
- Help to train and mentor staff to ensure everyone is confident in their roles and motivated to deliver their best.
- Support the team with day-to-day tasks, including clearing tables, serving drinks, and pitching in where needed.

Foodie - Edinburgh (Coffee Shop)
As a Foodie at Cairngorm Coffee, you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm, and a creative spirit to the table—literally. You’ll be responsible for crafting dishes that reflect our ethos, curating food experiences that complement our coffee, and ensuring our customers leave impressed (and maybe snapping photos of their plates!).
Key Responsibilities
- Complete food prep every morning and craft menu items to order.
- Ensure food is prepared to the highest quality, align with our brand values, and stay mindful of cost and workflow considerations.
- Experiment with dishes and ingredients, keeping things fresh, seasonal, and sustainable.
Jump in on the till when needed, maintain smooth communication with FOH staff, and support a unified customer experience. - Share knowledge and motivate others to understand and execute food preparation with the same care and finesse as you.
You Will Need:
- Passion for food and love for creating exciting, thoughtful dishes with a flair for current trends. You should enjoy discovering new ideas and bringing them to life.
- Adaptability and creativity with confidence in cooking for dietary requirements (Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free) and working within equipment and licensing limitations.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills for managing orders, stock control, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Team-first mentality! You’ll work closely with both the FOH and wider Cairngorm team, so communication and collaboration are key.

Bookkeeper - Scotland (Roastery/Remote)
We’re looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to join our small, ambitious team. This role involves working with Xero, Dext, and Soldo software to help us maintain a tidy and organised financial position.
As a Bookkeeper at Cairngorm Coffee, your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain our financial records with accuracy and efficiency. You’ll have the flexibility to split your time between our roastery near Portobello and remote working. If you’re a detail-oriented individual with a love for numbers and want to be part of a dynamic and growing business, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reconciled in Xero.
- Using Dext to process and organize invoices, receipts, and expense records.
- Managing transactions and monitoring budgets through Soldo.
- Reconciling bank accounts regularly to maintain an up-to-date financial overview.
- Preparing financial summaries and reports to support decision-making within the business.
- Assisting in VAT submissions and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Identifying and addressing any discrepancies in financial records promptly.
- Sending invoices to clients and responding to any accounts based queries.
What’s the Package?
- £14/hour, based on experience.
- Part-time with an expectation for 20 hours per week, with flexible working arrangements split between the roastery near Portobello and remotely.
